    Some of the things...
Hey guys, I broke down and ordered the AFE after sooo many people raved on about it. It fits great with the charger although I do have a fitment issue with the coupler from the tube to the box. The hose clamp wants to slip off when tightened. I'll keep a mindful eye on it as I put more miles on. First off the sound under boost is wicked and much louder on the exterior of the truck. People stare when I leave the stop lights haha. It's only louder under boost so normal light foots should worry not. Secondly, my AFR reading was bumped up at least half a point consistently (from 9.6ish to 10.0) under full load. I'm running an innovate lc2 and digital "DB" gauge with the sensor mounted just behind the catback flange. Sensor placement can alter the AFR .4+\- but anything above 10.0 with the super rich TRD flash is wonderful to see. Thirdly, I've put 250 miles on the kit so far and can honestly say the throttle response makes the truck feel faster. I'm not going to claim hp numbers but I will say it's snappier. Lastly, it looks roughly 10 million times cooler than the stock setup.

So to all of you contemplating the $400 purchase.... Don't do it for mpg or the claimed hp. Do it for way better throttle response, the sounds, and the looks. I'll report back with any mileage updates but for now it's just hammer down!

Nope. Unless the intake causes something on the SC to fail. The dealer has to prove that any aftermarket part you install caused a failure. They can't just say "OH, AFTERMARKET PART!!! NO MOAR WARRANTY!!!"

Reason being? If I did charge it I'm not looking for Max power. Otherwise I'd get a Charged Tundra. ;)

Doing reading the TRD makes more power down low and more evenly. The URD makes more overall, however their curve isn't as flat as TRD. I'd rather have more power down low. I'm rarely putting my truck above 4000 RPMs. However if you can sell me on the URD, have at. I'm always open to picking other peoples brains. I may still go TRD, but I'd rather have more information to make that choice.

I figured I'd swap to stock if anything serious engine related came up.

Did you leave the extra opening in the box open or closed?

I left it open... I wasn't sure I wanted to plug it until I start actually wheeling the truck.

Does it source air from under the hood through that opening?

It plumbs in to the hole in the fender just as the stock intake does. The addition hole draws air from the base of the washer tank. Didn't look like much additional air could get in but I figured I'd leave it out.
