Also didn't bother with the diff drop, but got a 3 degree axle shim instead and I am driveline vibration free.

I'm new to the 4x4 world. I pick up my TRD 4x Monday. So what I'm seeing is, to raise (level ) this truck (long bed) I need all new shocks ? Can it be done with spacers and blocks in the rear. Please excuse the lack of Intel on my part. I'd raise it 2" max. For bigger tire down the road.

Start reading this linked thread 1

In short, you can just use spacers to bring the front up but your ride will be much stiffer than it is now, and you will be limiting your suspension travel.

Also - resist the bro-lean. i you lift the front, lift the back

Perfect. Good info, thank you. I'm in Florida and don't need big suspension. Maybe leaving a brand new truck alone isn't a bad idea ;-)

Solid plan. When you replace the tires throw on some 265/75r16's which are an inch taller, give you an extra 1/2 inch of ground clearance, make the speedo more accurate, and fill out the wheel wells nicely.

(Mainly looking for the smooth ride) the $150 difference isn't a big deal- just want the ride quality on pavement!

OME's. Skip the top spacer and don't worry about the magic 3". If you go for a full 3", there's about a 50% chance you will need to replace your UCA's to get a proper wheel alignment. That, and there will be more wear and tear on CV's because the angles are higher than intended. Get the Dakar leaf pack. You will not regret it. It is soooooooo much nicer over bumps than the stock leaf pack. AAL's don't compare to a new set. Save the time or shop labour and just install the leaf pack the first time.

Having said all that, if you REALLY want 3", get the 887 coils instead of 885's and spacers. The 887 coils have the same spring rate as the 885's but are longer and will give you the magical 3 inches. (but if you don't want to spend money on UCA's or replacing CV's, don't do it)

FWIW I just ordered an OME Kit for my Taco. Folks talked me into doing the OME 887's & Nitrochargers up front to get a 3" front lift. Did full Dakar Pack in the rear. Because of the 887's up front I ordered Light Racing UCA's as well. Headstrong Offroad got me the whole thing shipped and struts assembled for $1,635.00.

If you do the standard OME total kit with 885's you won't need the UCAs. Then you can get it all for about $1,100.

Also keep in mind if you lift the front with spacers to level it you'll eventually need to lift the rear. Toyota's factory rear leaf springs apparently are notorious for sagging over time.
