Hi, just bought an '08 base Access 2WD, 114K. In '94 I purchased a Toyota truck (2WD)new, when they were called (of all things..) "Pickup", and ran it for 18 years until inexcusable neglect took it's toll and it was given to charity, still ran, needed new gas tank and all sorts of rusted lines...and only 130K, still plenty left in that one but for the rot.

In '12 seduced by an '03 4WD Ranger, sexy truck, that. 4.0L, whopping 12-14 MPG. Not 3 years and 12K miles later, though certain issues cropped up well sooner, needed new bunchashit in the drivetrain, ball joints, man was the rust attacking, and I felt I was not neglecting it in that area, but there you have it. Not all are bad, I know.

So back to Toyota, 4-cyl. and 2WD, heck, I rarely used the 4, even in Wisconsin. Nice truck.

So I've been reading this forum, a lot, joined simply to say:

YOU'VE ALL SCARED THE PISS OUTTA ME WITH THIS FRAME RUST THING!

So, there's that. But I really like the truck, and good forum, especially that tacky mods thread. No, not all 64 pages, but enough to make my eyes fuzzy on an iPad...
