    Hi guys

I recently moved from BC to Alberta and need to insure my 2013 non modded double cab v6 Taco.

In BC I was paying ~$850 for my insurance through ICBC (basic) and Canadian Direct, with a short 5km commute. It was parked outside in a smaller town.

In AB, most quotes I've been getting for similar coverage and a 19km commute and parking in a secure underground garage in Calgary have been in the $1500-1800 range.

What gives?? Is insurance that much more expensive here? If that's typical, what company do you guys recommend going with?

    Thanks

Td was the cheapest i could find and it was 2300/yr with 9 years of clean driving records.

Once you drive around for a bit in calgary at least youll understand why you pay so much.

    Is that just in Calgary?

I pay about half that but I live in a rural area.

Bilstein 5100 all around, front set at 0 with OME 887. Light racing UCA. Dakar full pack in back. aluminum running boards. Scangauge II. Painted flat black rims. Raider canopy.
Yup sounds about right. I pay 1475 for my 2009. That's about the average I found. They just gave me a good deal because I've insured everything with them. Went through a broker and they gave me SGI Canada. Saskatchewan Government Insurance. And I get airmiles every month.

Can only say that I had a bad experience with Canadian Direct on a totally valid hail claim on my house. Yes it hails a lot in southern AB. All my neighbors claims were accepted (they were smart & didn't have Canadian Direct coverage). Will never use Canadian Direct again.
