So last night I let my wife drive Taco to work, on the way home she was rear ended into another vehicle so the front and rear are both damaged....

I've heard conflicting things and I know a few of you have dealt with insurance claims on this site and was wondering if anyone had any input at all on what may happen...

I'm at work and don't have any pictures I can post but will try tonight to upload some

So anyways all airbags went off except the front passenger (I've heard this can be almost $10,000 to fix??) the front and rear bumpers need to be replaced, both front fenders are pushed back against the driver and passenger front door (they don't appear damaged but are pushed back.. is the a crumple zone there underneath?) radiator mount is pushed back and the radiator appears bent but no leaks, battery hold down is broken and the tray appears pushed back, one fog light is missing, the grill fell off, the hood has a few creases and doesn't appear fixable. To the naked eye the frame looks alright but my trailer hitch is angled slightly down now......

Now I am insured with gieco, they say that it is most likely totaled with that much front end damage a especially the air bags all deploying... But they also said in order to be totaled it is 80% of the vehicles value in repairs to be totaled... Is there any way it can be totaled if the frame isn't damaged? 80% just seems like a lot.....

Either way my wife is alright and that's all that really matters

That's sucks man, but the good thing is everyone is ok.
I was in a similar situation 3 weeks ago. However my bags never deployed and the rear was minor. My truck is not totaled with almost 11k in repairs.

    It's a 2010 with 60k

Appreciate the info.... I really have no idea what to expect with this, I'll post up some pictures as soon as I can but I think it will need at least what you had replaced plus the airbags and rear bumper

I think the airbags could throw it over the total mark. There was some small
Damage to the shock tower but not in fixable. The great thing about it for me was the truck will have all its imperfections fixed. Even the dent I put in it from plowing this winter ☺️.

I really hope you have GAP insurance (assuming you financed your truck)

Nothing we say matters; only the adjuster and the actual condition of the truck matters.

W/o pictures we can't even really guess well.

But it is safe to say it would take a lot to total a '15 in nice shape w/normal miles.

Glad the wife was fine....... that's what really matters.

Need to have repairs over $25,000 for them to total it.

If they do not total it, be sure to look into the feasibility of making a Diminished Value Claim. Your truck will never be worth as much as it was before the accident and in some states this value adjustment can be monetized. Both my brother and I have successfully made diminished value claims before.

Not true. My 2015 DCLB 4x4 Limited was totaled at $18k, plus rental fees. As soon as they found out the frame was bent, they (his insurance and mine) said they weren't going to repair the damage.

That sucks. Glad your wife is OK. It's amazing how much repair parts and labor cost. Hope you make out OK.

Anywys, I got a call from insurance today and they say that it's only got 10-12k$ of damage.... thats just on visual inspection but I think thats an extreme lowball and not including what they find once they start tear down.... Will post more updates when i get them.. The radiator itself also appears bent... Does the radiator sit crooked in these trucks or is it from the accident? it appears tilted towards the passenger side

Glad your wife is ok!Based on your pics i think there could be more damage.Make sure if repaired(not totaled)that everything is factory OEM Toyota and not aftermarket compatible.

On a 2015 diminished value should be a slam dunk
