Locked fuel door

    picked up a new bed and wondering how I can get it open without breaking the lock. No key unfortunately.

    If the bed is not on the truck, look through from the back side and you will see the ear that the lock part engages to. Simply pry the catch out of the way with a flat head and it should come open. If you manage to do this without breaking the plastic clip that actually latches the door. I would be interested In purchasing it as mine is broken. Just lmk if you need anymore help

    ok great. will give that a try. any way to rekey it to the ignition cylinder?

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    swap the lock with your old one, or if you don't have the old one just remove the brass keyways inside it so you can turn it with anything to open it.

    if you felt like spending the money bring it to locksmith to have it rekeyed to your key and while it doesn't cost a fortune to do it, its also not cheap.

    no one really uses locking gas doors anymore anyway, if you need to secure it use a locking gas cap
