Looks like a nice spot! Glad you were comfortable, looks a little too tightly pitched for me. Can't get that diagonal lay.

You would have to form a platform of some sort, maybe a steel pole with a sheerpanel (plywood) or steel bottom. Square maybe.
See post #49 and his setup! Just throw something flat and sturdy and throw them under the posts.

I plan on going camping in a couple of weeks and want to sleep in the hammock. What do you guys use as far as a mosquito net? I want to keep it relatively cheap (also I will need 2) and those out there that I have seen are way out of my price range. I am talking like $20 each max. Something self made if need be, nothing fancy. Ideas?

Head down to the surplus store. Buy some off the bulk roll. throw a line above your hammock and drape it over you a frame style. Simple.

sweet.... I was planning to do that anyway if there wasn't an "already made" one out there for cheap that I was unaware of.

Now where in the world are you going camping around here with this weather!? It's a sauna during the day, and at night the temp drops maybe 10 degrees total. I can't even work in my garage at night with two fans on without taking a bath in sweat and being covered in mesquitoes.

I've messed around with one of these for a weekend. It's definitely a budget hammock, but held up quite well for several different adults of various sizes. It did come with some cheap nylon rope to wrap around trees. The rope stretched over time, but for $20, I'm not complaining. This would be something that I keep in the truck for last minute trips (if I purchase one for myself).
