Man that's kinda bullshit if there's not a easy fix like really Toyota 6,400 miles and only started about 400 miles ago . Makes me want to go and tell someone about it at the dealership

I thought all trucks squeak when bushings get wet. My jeep use to squeak after cleaning and then after off roading a bunch it would stop. Every truck Ive owned has squeaked in the rear suspension at some point.

Hmm might be on to something I did noticed it after I washed my truck but didn't think to connect the dots.

    @fixer5000
    Good call there, Steve.
But Never, ever, EVER, cut off a cable tie, even with flush cutting dikes.
It will still leave a dangerous sharp edge
Always, ALWAYS, Twist and Spin it off with the flat end of a pair of pliers.
And as you may or may not know, there's even a tool to do it automatically.
Do as I say, not as I do. :D
The pic below, taken around the same time, shows that the Twisted Cable Tie,
stretches and curls, leaving only smooth plastic.
A bonus to this method is, that it may even tighten the Tie a notch or two.
The Cable Ties on the Leaf Springs were installed on a cold, wet day.
I couldn't get my pliers in, as I recall, without dropping the spare,
and negotiating the shackle to get to a couple of 'em.
All cuts are pointed in towards the spare, in a tight area, I'm well aware of them, and they're on the list.
Hopefully, you pointing this out (and your genuine concern for my welfare),
will be seen by and educate others, who won't have to experience it, to learn.
I posted those pics in the "Squeaky Dakars" Thread, and never gave it a thought.
So now, with you in mind, I'm going back to edit that post, with the warning.
That being said, My Leaf Springs Still Don't Squeak. :bananadance:
Thanks for your post , seriously.

This was probably already answered, but it's a problem with the rear leaf springs. I bought my '15 Tacoma (4dr, 4x4) TRD OffRoad brand new in March, 2015. The squeaks started occurring at around September (approximately 10k miles on the truck). I brought it to the dealership to have them diagnose the problem. Servicer told me that Toyota has been informed of the problem (and that certain trucks with this problem been recalled), except they don't have a fix for it yet...go figure. I was told to check back in a couple weeks.

I have 2015 with under 5000 miles and toyota is completely replaceing my leaf springs on both sides. I will see if that works if not my truck falls under FL lemon law.

unrelated, and referring to something older, but I prefer fingernail clippers or a sharp razor for cutting zipties. Fingernail clippers (the big kind) leave a nice, rounded (small) edge. Razor will cut it flush, but might slip and mark something (like a clean paint job...).

How are leafs still a problem. My 99 did that shit. only got 2500 on my 15 so far...

Leafs are a big problem in the taco community includeing the recall for 07 to 11 tacos and mine are squeak uncontrollable and Toyota said they are common on 2015 amd my Dad's 2015 tundra is having similar problems
