Should I worry about squeeks if the noise doesn't bother me?

The front end squeeks when the the truck goes up and down (over bumps, getting in and out of the cab). Turning doesn't cause it, just up and down. The noise doesn't bother me. What could be the cause and should I worry about it being something that will eventually break unless I fix it?

    Thanks

Look at your bushings in your control arms for cracks in the rubber or twisting. The squeaks could be a sign of premature wear/failure. Could be a potential safety concern in the future, but it is something to keep an eye on. On the other hand, I know some suspension parts squeak when they get dirty. Any recent off-roading, mud or rain and crud finds a way to get in there. A good wash will help. Try and get the hose to spray directly into the suspension to get some of it out. Stay away from pressure washers though as they could wash out some grease that is supposed to be there...

if it doesn't bother you then don't worry about it.

if it gets to the point you "need" to do something about it then worry about it then.

often its just rusty leaf springs or dry bushing

    Check out my build
When my balljoints started failing they squeaked in the same situations. Happens when all the grease inside dries up.
If that is the problem they need to be replaced.

If the ball joints are just dry I know a secret method for lubing them.
the auto parts supplier will hate you because he wants you to buy new joints when they start to squeak.
If they havent been dry too long they may be good enough to get you home from Baja or back and forth to work for a few years if you can get grease in them
However if they are worn to the danger point it could cause a fatal crash so its a good idea to check them by jacking it up and wiggling or go in to a service center for a suspension estimate and have the pro check it

To lube ball joints and tie rod ends that have no zirks I get a grease injection needle with a zirk at an auto parts store. It attaches to a grease gun

The needle can be inserted in the seal to pump some grease in. Be careful not to overfill all at once and pop the seal. Works on sealed bearings too.
