Sorry if this is a stupid question. I recently purchased my 2012 DCSB TRD OR. Love it to death but I can't seem to find the answer to this question I have. What would be the height of the factory lift on this truck? Is it considered a lift? I mean, to me being newer to all of this and the truck obviously being higher than a base model... what is it? I did search for this, searched spec sheets and crawled websites etc.

Only asking this so I have a base when the time comes to add lift to it. I stare and drool over the member pics, google image searches etc. Debating if I want a 3" or more like a 2.5" etc. Thanks!

Oh OK. So the design of the suspension itself is inherently taller but not actually a lift by definition in comparison to the a standard Tacoma?

Gotcha, thanks for that explanation! I had a Tacoma back in 99. Standard base model. Was bagged and on the ground. Got into Sport Truck magazine... feels like a lifetime ago. Haven't had a truck since I lost that one in 2001. Feel like I have an actual truck now.
