So after major service, frame replacement, I had a received truck back with dent and check engine light on. Dealer refused to correct the check engine light or even diagnose the issue, even though it was just a simple tube that came loose.

I took Tacoma in for frame replacement Oct 2014 and got truck back Mar 2015. When I got home my wife noticed large dent in fender above wheel on passenger side. Next morning check engine light came on. I had engine light checked at parts store and then called dealer on Monday. Dropped truck back off at dealer. Dent was fixed no questions asked but in paperwork tech said dent was there. Dealer left message the check engine fix would run 1500ish. Paperwork states " air injection stuck we do not remove the engine or tran we drain power steering when doing frame and thr light was on and the dent tooo". So I picked up and called service manager. He said that he would check into it. Service manager responded via email, "
sorry for the delay. My tech said there's 2 air pumps on your vehicle but only one is causing the light to come on. He said the pump is working and seizing up. He said the length of time the vehicle was sitting and not being driven could have caused the condition. I can get some pricing together for you if you would like. "
I responded that I would like to make a formal complaint and asked who I should contact. Service manager sent email with Toyota Canada's phone number, I live in USA.
So, I went under hood and looked around and sure enough there was a tube/hose hanging from sensor? and I plugged it back into ASF and reset light and have not had any light since.

I hope that is all the problems you have. Bad enough to be without your truck and then have problems when done too.

I know this is an older "Rant" post.. But i wanted to reassure you that it isn't just that dealership, as someone who used to drive about 100K miles a year, i used to visit a lot of dealerships for new cars, used cars, and service when on the road.. here is a good breakdown.. Domestic cars have the best dealerships, friendly, etc.. clean, and free wifi coffee etc.. But thats generally because you will be spending a lot of time there.. Japanese car dealers are small cramped and usually a closet with chairs.. because you won't be there often.. But in Ohio, all dealerships suck.. I don't know what the hell is wrong with mechanics in Ohio, but i do know you don't find good ones at toyota dealerships.. or at least that has been my experience.. I just follow a simple rule,... If i can't fix it myself, i don't want it..
