    Hi All,

I'm about to install a couple sets of Rigids this evening, and I plan on installing my otrattw rocker switches in the blank spaces beneath my fog light and power inverter switches. I was wondering where the best tie-in spot for this area was in order to provide my independant LEDs with power only when my dash lights are on. I looked around although many of the threads are for light panels in other locations, and wanted to know what people have been tapping into (and how) in this location.

Additionally, with the Rigid Dually's I wasn't planning on using a relay (at least for now). I figure this will probably be ok taking into account the switch's rating(s) and the low draw from the Rigids. Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance!

For the illumination if you aren't worried about the need to dim control them and just want the switch to light up when the rest of your dash switches are on then the easiest would be to run a ground wire to a chassis ground point and for the positive tap into one of your other illuminated switches. You would need to tap the green wire.

I'd probably use a relay if nothing else for the longevity of your switch and so that it doesn't warm up. That said if the switch is rated for a decent amount above the entire current load that you are hooking up to it then you should be fine.

Why not use a relay? Easy enough to wire up.

I'll probably put in a relay in the next few months, I just needed to have it installed for this weekend and wanted a quick install

Ah good idea - I can just run a jumper from the green wire on say my fog light switch over to my new switches on the lower switch bank?

And good point about the heat on the switch. I will likely end up putting in a relay I just didn't have time to set it up this week.
