Yup, that about sums it up. To this day there are no traffic lights on island. People stop in the middle of the main street through town just to "talk story", no fucks given about anybody behind them.

My son has a Jeep. He's been away for a few days, so I took his Jeep to the store yesterday. I completely forgot about the "Jeep wave" thing until I got a few waves on the way. Kind of cool actually, had a couple of other Jeeps slow down or speed up just to wave as we passed. I've tried to acknowledge other Tacoma's on the road without much success, kind of disappointing. I do have a TW decal on my truck, so I always look for that on other Tacoma's.

Heck yeah on the TW decal. I have yet to spot another one out on the open road, but would definitely stalk them and wave :headbang:

if i see a modded tacoma, i will wave to you...but if that mod includes deeply tinted windows, well, cant give props lol. my windows are factory tint so you can see me. im not fond of tint, to me its as if someone is hiding in the dark..unless there is some medical reason for it.

I have noticed around town no one waves at other Tacoma drivers. But I have been camping a few times and more often than not on the back roads share a wave with a fellow Tacoma driver.

Maybe it's a sign of "well done" using a Tacoma for more than just picking the kids up from soccer practice wave... I know when I went to the dealership the saleswoman asked me why I wanted a Tacoma and was pleasently surprised when I didn't say to haul around kids hockey bags, get groceries, and be a mall crawler.

    Excuse? That sucks.
I wouldn't be caught dead driving in Texas with absolutely no tint.
