In your vid, you get a wrech from your trasharoo, were that from i need one of those

 

Are any you guys running any kind of inline water separator on your OBA? Or just have a release valve on bottom of my tank? On my 81 Yota im using my AC compressor for my OBA so I need one duo to having to remove the oil in AC compressor.

 

I got it a while back from a site I can't remember, but Amazon carriers them now

Worked on my OBA install today. Compressor is Viair 480C. Using the passenger side bulkhead behind the tail light requires no cutting of the cubby box.

If you remove this factory bolt it gives you a great location to mount one of the feet on the compressor. You will need to get a longer bolt for this hole. The bolts that came with the compressor is just a little short for this one spot. All other 3 are good.

It is very solid. There is plenty of room up top to run intake hose (the one with the filter).

The mounting is the hard part, wiring and running the hoses should be easy enough. I hope this helps others. If you have any questions feel free to ask.







Now you only have to drill 3 holes.









The 480C is 10.87" long. We are talking about a 1/4" shorter and it would have cleared this bolt. Depending on the length of the compressor you choose this may not be an issue.

 

Thats the same location that I installed my dual Viair 480c.

 

Ok so i have my

$338 ARB CKMA12 On-Board Air Compressor High Performance 12 Volt for Air Locker Differentials and Tire Inflation

ARB CKMA12 mounted and hooked up in the engine compartment. It works great but now i want to add quick disconnects on the front bumper (pelfreybilt) and the rear (all pro standard) and run a 4 way splitter off the compressor. Four way as in 1 goes to the compressor, 1 is for the pressure switch, 1 goes to front and 1 goes to rear.

My problem has been figuring out which hoses and fittings to use. I figure i should run leader hoses of the four way for both front and back (figured 18" SS VIAIR ones) but then from the leader hose to quick disconnects im not sure what to use.

Just get 1/4" DOT air line? What sort of fittings do i use? (Push-Lok?)

Figure doing this will give me the ability to air up the guy in front of me or behind me when needed. Right now my hose (arb one) can treach anyone behind me.

 

Honestly, just make it a T, one source, one pressure switch and one output. Put one disconnect in the front or back and get a longer air hose. I have my disconnect in the bed cubby and my hose reaches all the way around past the front. It'll make your life much easier. I'm a big fan of overkill so I run half inch high pressure air hose- the rubber kind youd find on a shop compressor. Never liked the push lock fittings but that's just me.

 

So it's time for me to jump ahead and start making connections for my Locker, a little ahead of schedule.

 

I have 3 outputs on my truck. 2 in the front and 1 in the back. I find i dont use the one in the back much except for airing other people up. The driver's side front will reach the drivers front and rear, and passenger rear without over extending, though I usually just hook it up to the passenger front to air up both passenger side tires. I'm using good year rubber hose for my lines with brass barb fittings, and i use a harbor freight yellow coil air hose to air up the tires. If I was doing it over again i would and probably will eventually use hard lines.

I use this as an air chuck and it works great on the factory trd wheels. I've only run into a couple of aftermarket wheels that it doesn't fit on.

Does anyone have good leads on a small, 1-2 gallon, air tank? Everything I am seeing starts at $50ish

 

Need to spend money to get a tank.
You could make your own smaller tank, using sched-40 PVC. That stuff is supposedly rated to 300psi.
For the supplies and necessary tools, you'll still be spending at least $30.
I used PVC for a quart-size tank for my home-made substitute for an ARB compressor.
