So I got that code this morning. Just filled up, and the truck wouldn't crank. Pulled the keys out, sat for 30 sec, tried again, and she cranked and fired. Called Toyota, and they couldn't see me today, and don't do diagnosis on the weekend. We're leaving Sunday for a road trip. So, I thought it might have been my Viper remote start, according to the code I looked up online. Since I took it in, they reset the brain of the alarm, reprogrammed the remote, and zip tied everything away, because the initial installer left that stuff hanging. He said there may have been static buildup in the brain, and it didn't recognize that the alarm was disarmed. The weather here today is windy, rainy and cold.

My question is this. The code has not come back, do you think I'm okay taking the truck on a road trip? Or should we use the wife's 4Runner?

Shouldn't have anything to do with the alarm.

Well, just got back from the road trip, and the starter was fine. There was no problems, and the alarm is reacting much better, no random shock sensor alerts, and the lock/unlock buttons are reacting faster. I think there must have been something with the 9-year-old alarm/starter, and the starter on the truck. It's weird that it happened at all, but it looks like the reset cleared it up.
