I'm aware (from my adventures with the A/C compressor expansion valve) that dashboard removal/replacement is an operation so complex and delicate that some of the pros in my town didn't want to touch it. Would I encounter similar concerns when it came to wiring my ARB compressor to those slots at the left of the steering column? I know a few folks who'd tackle the job--just wondering how much of the interior they (or I) would need to take apart.

The slots on the left sides of the steering wheel are easily accesible but I don't know that other steps there is in installing the AR Lockers

Depends on where you mount them. The bottom 3 switches on the left side are easy. The top 3 require removing that portion of the dash and the cover over the gauges. It isn't hard. You do need to decide where you're going to get power for your switches but other than that, nothing is complicated about any of it.
