Just a quick question. I've got the Morimoto Mini D2S Stage 3 retrofit with 55w bulbs and ballasts. I want to upgrade to the new 55w xb bulbs and ballasts, would I need a new wiring harness or could I reuse my existing one?

Old one should be fine the ballast is what converts the power. Should be the same male and female ends

Did my first ever retrofit last weekend. Happy with the results. Here's some pics. If anyone has any questions, let me know!

I'm getting ready to do mine, I got the roll of seal tape with it. Is it difficult at all to seal it all back up?

Not at all. You can supplement the stock sealant with the new stuff. Just string it out and pack it in the channel (not too much). Then reheat the housing, press together, and re-install all of the screws.

Yep what he said. The kit or whatever they sell comes with more than enough. Really it looked liked it would seal up just fine as-is, but I wanted to play it safe.

Cool. Just wanted to make sure it was as easy as it seemed. Just waiting on my replacement shroud since USPS decided to play football with the first package and break one.

@TRSAndrew can you use the adjusting screws to dial in the projector? Or does it have to be set with the hex lock nut? Thanks

You set the rotation / level the beam with the hex nut. Adjusting screws to set up/down and left/right adjustment. Put hex lock nut on as tight as you can by hand... You want to be able to rotate it but still snug and secure. Then epoxy around the nut to join projector to reflector housing after you have level beam/proper rotation.

I imagine you're talking about the FX-Rs and not one of the threaded projector types. If that's the case, you want to get it as close as possible with the 4 hex bolts, then fine tune with the Toyota factory adjustment bolts.

Did anyone source a set of replacement 2012-2015 headlight housings so that you could revert back to stock for a lease or if you ever sold it?

Perfect. It's my first GB not sure how it works. Email Andrew or online on their website? Also is it GB on kits or just specific items?
