There is a thread with some discussion on the new season in the 2nd Gen Tacoma section but I figured there might be some who enjoy the show outside of the Tacoma as well.

I had the unique opportunity to be part of an exciting adventure with the Expedition Overland crew this past spring. We spent 8 weeks adventuring from Montana to the bottom of Central America and the Darien Gap in Panama. Expedition Overland produces a high quality adventure travel series that can be seen online via YouTube, etc. Take a minute to check out the official trailer

The season debuted on July 8th, here are the first 3 episodes.

    Episode 1

    Episode 2

    Episode 3

Episode 4 launches tomorrow (Wednesday) on YouTube

There will be segments on our various off-road activities throughout the season. Today's episode will feature the ferry across to mainland MX and getting across mainland MX so don't expect much off-roading there, it just doesn't exist. I love Alaska too! I just got back from a river trip on the mighty Yukon. We attempted to jet boat from the Dalton Highway to Eagle (same as your home Eagle River?) but broke am impeller blade and had to cut the trip a bit shorter. Can't wait to get back up there, a true gem of a state!

Awesome Kurt. So cool to have someone from Xo on TW. Expedition Overland has been a large inspiration to me over the past couple years while I’ve built my truck and trailer. I was very excited for this season and episode one was great. I really enjoyed seeing everything that goes into the trips that is usually skipped. Episodes 2 and 3 were just ok. Episode 4 last night was the best one yet. I don’t watch much tv but XO is like the super bowl to me. I wait for my wife to get home every Wednesday. We order Chinese. Put the show on the tv and sit back and relax while watching our favorite show.

Kurt, I had no idea you are involved with this. Thanks for posting up your insights.

I'm hoping to get to your BBQ on the 8th. If not, I'm sure I'll run into you at Cruiserfest.

Kurt, this season rocks! I see what others are saying about the slow start, but I actually have enjoyed every minute of it and I can tell that it can only get more interesting moving forward. I will admit, I was a little taken back by the "kill the spider" decision but I'm over it now. You guys rock! Can't wait to see the girls' segment too. :D

Just watched episode 4. I don't know about you but when y'all were following the van I was thinking they could've been leading you into a trap. Did that ever cross your minds?

No, can't say it was in that issue. I was the one that got out and spoke with the locals. They seemed legitimate and realized we were after some neat camping. I didn't have any alarms going off.

On the spider... What the video doesn't show is the village local saying they absolutely loathe those spiders (can't recall the name) and they kill any they see. Not that is/was our job to be functioning as pest control for the locals but given his demeanor toward the situation I suppose it just seemed on par at the time? Hope that makes sense? There may or may not be a scene in a future episode where we discuss a similar instance with village locals... we don't kill anything but they make a point of telling us they do to keep the kids out of trouble.

    Glad you're enjoying the show!

Have to get caught up with the Alaska season, but loving it so far.. As I commented on another thread, I'm surprised to see (and not in some ways as it is more "city" so far), that other than playing at the beach, they haven't needed to engage 4x4.. I am waiting for the specs on the new '16s, but I have put a bunch of love, work, and money into my 2x (with ARB lockers) and want to keep and convert (one day).... seeing XO the trucks in 2x a bunch makes me just want to keep, and hold off on selling..
