    Ok...the truck: 2015 DCSB 4x4 Sport (V6/auto) lifted 3" with 285/75-16s

The question...Would it be worth it to regear to 4.10s in this truck if the cost is only about $400?? I know it lost a little power when I put the 285s on it.
    Anybody running a V6/auto with 285s and 4.10s??

I'm pretty happy with the performance of my 285's on stock gearing but for $400 I would do it. That's a good deal.

Do you plant to go bigger one day? If so, might want to look at 4.56 or 4.88 too

Maybe I better explain a little.
I also have a 2014 RC 4x4 (2.7/Auto) that I am re-gearing to 4.56, so ECGS said they would put the 4.10 thirds from the '14 into the '15 and build those 3.73 thirds with 4.56s to go back in my '14 Reg Cab. Both sets of thirds will also get the "bushing" installed. So, that's why it's only $400 and why it's 4.10s for the '15 (V6/auto)
    Make sense??

Why are you saying thirdS as plural? The rear is a third member. The front is a "clamshell" differential. The rear third member is super quick and easy to change, the front isn't as much. But in a shop, on a lift, not having to disassemble the whole unit it wouldn't be so bad.

Basically you're saying that they are just going to carry the 4.10 third member and clamshell over to another truck for 400, right? I would probably do it myself, but if it didn't have the tools or time I'd pay $400 for it.

I wouldn't pay a lot of money to re-gear from 3.73 to 4.10, but again for $400 absolutely. It will put the truck pretty close to stock. Not a huge difference from what it is, but much better than spending $400 on noisy exhaust or intake or something.

Hope this isn't a thread jack (apologize to OP if it is)...but since we are talking about gearing...I have regular cab 2wd and I have 3.31 gears and it's pretty weak for 4 cylinder. So the third member is the pumpkin in the back...so just pull that out and put 4.10s in? What is the cost of that in SoCal...any good shops to recommend?

Far as the OP...I think V6 have 3.73...so going to 4.10 wouldn't affect MPG too much...I think it would be worth it. For me, I don't know if going to 3.73 or to 4.10 coming from 3.31? I am putting on 235/55/18 or 235/50/18...would be the same profile as stock 215/70/15 or there abouts... I just think the truck is dog slow and wouldn't mind a bit more street pick me up.

East coast gear supply is one shop that a lot of us use. You can order a third member with 4.10 gears installed, shipped to your door. Install takes a couple hours at most, then you ship your old third member back for core charge return. Or keep it or whatever. The rear is pretty simple so it might be almost as cheap to just have a shop remove and re-gear it as well.

My bad on the "thirds". I didn't figure that I needed to be so precise. But, yes, I have changed both out before, on several vehicles.
It would just be nice to have ECGS do it all while they are building my 4.56s. I'll just need to drive both trucks to them and spend the day.
