My Tacoma (TRD Sport DCLB) is my DD for now, so it needs to handle well on-road as well as off-road. When I go off-roading it'll be when I go hunting or camping or just want to go tear sh!t up outside. Which means slow 80% of the time except for the times I drive home from MT to NV. However, it'll mostly be on-road since it's my DD until whenever that day ends. Thoughts?
I'm sure this has been asked in other threads but I'm not about that thread revival crap so.
If you've done a lift, tell me about it. What you like, what you don't like, was it worth it iyo, etc.

    Yes sir
I'd go full old man emu (OME) or adjustable bilstein shocks with eibech coils and an add-a-leaf. You'll probably want new upper control arms (UCA's) to obtain better alignment geometry after you lift your truck. OME has different coils that give you different amounts of lift due to different coil heights.

I went with 887 coils for 3 inches of lift, light racing UCA's, 90021 and N182 shocks as well as a 2" add-a-leaf in the rear. Check out my build for pictures and such. Tons of guys on here go OME, should run you ~$1000, depending on what you go with it could be + or - $150 ish on that $1000. Good luck!

So when would someone go into buying kings, icons, or fox?

And are the Sport bilstein shocks progressive or digressive?

Well kings and fox are going to be a much better and more expensive shock to go with. Most guys who run them wheel pretty hard because they want a reservoir shock that doesn't heat up super fast like other shocks do when off roaming from what I understand.

Not sure about the sports shocks though.

What MPH does the progressive/digressiveness of shocks come into play?

It's not the MPH really its more related to the road condition on when the shock starts performing.
If you want something a bit better than stock and relatively cheap then OME or Bilstein setup will do you fine. If you want the best offroad experience you cant go wrong with Icon,King or Fox (Pick a color you like and go with that brand). All of these setups are just fine for a DD.

If I recall correctly, king and fox are progressive and icon is digressive. Progressive shocks become more firm as the shaft velocity increases where as digressive shocks are stiffer at a lower shaft velocity. Basically, king and fox will give you a smoother ride on streets and off road at a lower speed, like less than 20MPH and icons will be stiffer at lower speeds but smoother at speeds over 20MPH.

OME here as well. Can't say enough good things about this lift. As an occasional offroader and as my DD, can't beat this lift. It is the best bang for buck.

If you want more info/pics/etc, check out my build thread by clicking on the pic in my sig below.
