Nice. Chrome bumper on OR? Maybe base OR package and not technology?

What appeals to people about off roading?

Just curious why some like it. It seems a little boring to me. And nerve wracking. But that is probably what appeals to some.

I live in Wyoming. I spend a lot of time on bad roads. Off road performance is a must.

All the previous prototype 16 Off Roads have color match bumpers, door handles, and mirrors. I hate the chrome bumper.

I like wheeling in the dirt. We like to exploration. It's always different even if you drive the same area multiple times.

It would be great if any other videos or pics that guy has posted could be directly (like OP did) linked for those of us not on Facebook.

It is a little nerve wracking, and it can be thrilling. It can also be rewarding to look back over some crazy patch of terrain and say "I drove over/up/down that!"

Plus, I'm a gadget/gear whore. I'll load up the truck with some gear and head to the hills. I always look for even the smallest reason to have to drop it into 4 to get to wherever I'm going. Whether I have a passenger or not, I'll nod approvingly and dramatically, like I've got some secret ingredient and I'll get over the obstacle or whatever and I'll actually think to myself that I'm probably more manly now than I was 2 minutes ago. Those moments gettimg rare for me, so shit yeah 4x4.

There are a few different forms of off roading and people do it for different reasons. I enjoy the exploration aspect. You come across a dirt road and follow it and see where it goes. You can look up the trails ahead of time. i think of it like hiking with air conditioning, and music, and you can pack all the shit you want with you, and bring your dog.

We have a lot of desert around us here in socal and there is a lot of cool stuff we have found in the desert that isn't on any map or website.

    A dinosaur trailer home
    Countless bags of deaf turkeys
    Open sample mines
    Dry lakes
    Open mine and well pits
Quarries, both in and out of operation
Cafes in the middle of nowhere
Hills with roads up the sides
Rock out cropping for scaling the rc rigs
    Creeks
    washes
    Underpasses
    Malls. Wait...

By the way, I talked to that Gary Rogers guy on Facebook. He works for Toyota. Apparently Toyota is doing a Tacoma product demo in Tacoma, WA with Bass Pro Shops. That footage of them crawling is that same course as the demo course. He said power feels very similar to 4.0 at low speeds. He also said torque would be the same as the 4.0, which could be rather vague. 261 and 266 are virtually the same. Anywho, if anyone is near Tacoma WA, they should check it out!

The torque is nearly the same so the power at low speeds feels about the same

    Have you driven one?
I've heard speculation that the low end torque will not be as high as the 2nd gen.
