Hello people of TacomaWorld :) I am the proud owner of a 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4, 207k miles. Desert Dune/Silver, with factory e-locker and 4.30 gears. She's a peach! Purchased as third owner in Bozeman, MT in June of 2014. Installed a Shrockworks bumper in July 2015 in preparation for my many travels through the world of a million animals that like to run out in front of your car while you're going 75 miles an hour. :)

    20150721_162519_zpsdu3ft3ke_d077ea41f5589b3dd3daf0e8cda9459239454e7e.jpg

Been on T4R.org for about a year now, and I've read lots of positive things about TW, so I figured I'd give you guys a whirl!

Goals for the truck are as follows...

Short Term: Daily driver, commuter from college-home and vise versa. Average about 10k miles a year, so looking to keep close to stock tires and no lift, yet! Probably adding Savage Offroad sliders soon, and looking for a supercharger to help with the big Montana hills.

Long Term: Expedition rig, baby! Probably won't be happening until after graduating from engineering school, but it will happen eventually. Planning on Icon mid-travel set up on all four corners, giving around 3 inches of lift in order to run 33's. Long range auxiliary gas tank in stock spare tire location. Rear plate bumper with swing out and jerry can holder. Rear cargo box build including dual battery set up and hidden sub, because the girlfriend and I can't resist a good jam out session while road-tripping! Rear slide out fridge would be pretty sweet :) Whitson Metalworks roof rack and a roof top tent to come as well (leaning towards Tepui at this point). A nice big Warn winch up front, like a 9.5 XP-S would be chill. Then we will go tour the world! He he.

I'll eventually start a build thread once I have money to throw at the truck and another DD. Looking forward to my time here, and thanks for welcoming me to the forum!! Have a great day everyone :)

How do you like the bumper so far? That is the one I want to get, as well as their full skid package.

Mechanical engineering. Gonna be a sophomore this next year at Montana Tech in Butte.

I freaking love my bumper haha. Got it on a T4R group buy back in April, and was lucky enough to get 15% off AND 3 month quoted lead time vs. the usual 4 month lead time. With fog lights, d-rings, powder coated, etc. came to just shy of $1400 to my door, so it was a no brainer for me! Local fabricator installed it for $120 plus a healthy tip. Will definitely be getting my skids from Shrockworks when the time comes for my Runner to become the designated wheeling rig.

I saw that group buy but couldn't jump on it! That is good to know, as soon as I get my Runner mechanically ready to wheel the Shrockworks stuff will be on order.

I am looking at the CBI rear bumper eventually. Swing out carrier, camping light and table on the bumper. But it is pricey.

I agree on the Sales Tax thing! Visited family in AZ last week and was shocked how much sales tax adds to stuff at retail. Forgot all about it. haha

I will have to check out the Savage Offroad one. The Savage is also a nice bumper, I wouldn't mind the Shrockworks one.

I LOVE the addicted offroad bumper ..but they don't make it adjustable for body lifts.. NOR do they make them for body lifts.

savage offroad makes theirs adjustable for up to a 2 inch body lift.

I chose that option just in case I ever get a body lift. not sure tho.

maybe one day id like to put in 35s ;)

Lol no worries guys, I'm still up! It's not that late in MT ;) I agree, the Addicted front bumper is gorgeous. I debated it for a while, but I don't want to lift until I wear these tires out, and the AOR bumper just looks funky on non-lifted 4Runners IMO. The Savage is pretty nice looking, a local guy has one on his truck with a Warn in it. I'll try to snag a pic tomorrow morning if he's parked next to me in the alley like usual haha.

@Kyitty nice to see a bozemanite on here! I go to school in Butte at the moment, but for the summer I'm home in Red Lodge. Maybe we can do some wheeling in Bozo some time this next year?!

And for rear bumper, I'm waffling between CBI or 4xInnovations... I like the look of the 4xI bumper better, BUT I've heard better things about CBI and their reputation as a company. The only thing I don't like is the lack of weight rating on the trailer hitch!!

I am in the same boat as you. I am sure I will eventually be in the boat debating whether to go to 35's or not lol. That is good to know they allow for adjustment for body lifts.

if that 4runner with a savage front bumper has limited flares PLEASE do take a pic, try to take one to where I can see how much the flares stick out with respect to the savage bumper
