Anyone have quick disconnect sway bars? Experience with it? Worth it?

    Build thread in sig...

disconnect for 2nd gens is a fairly difficult animal. pretty much have to make your own, and it's not as simple as the typical disconnects you see with a couple bushings and a wing nut.

most folks just take it off completely. if you have some stiffer aftermarket springs, you wont see a huge difference day to day.

This. I just removed my sway bar and don't notice much of a difference except how much smoother it is on road. Slightly more body roll. Although I have 5100s and eibachs.

QUOTE="SquirrelyPatriot, post: 10544263, member: 125486"]A few other people have had it happen from playing there we use to go pretty regularly most of my trips were to that area. I'll miss blowing things up with friends haha. As a former marine I'm sure you shoot right? I haven't been shooting in a while... Would love to take a trip to Centralia to shoot anyone else down? I'll need a lifted truck lol[/QUOTE]

I try to go shooting about once a month, although August is extremely busy for me, so count me in for shooting. I usually go to Delmarva since they have a 300yd and 500yd range. I think Mobtown was trying for a September wrench day, what are you doing to your dash??

Who has a 500yd range and how do I get there lol!!

I need to pull the relay next to the steering colum and make it always closed so that my 12v stay hot all the time. And September you say.... Hmmm I can probably gather some other quick mods together by then

Actually. So I am making a six by nine template for my front door speakers..
I will then cut a hole out for my new 6.5" speakers.

Question is.. how deep should I go? Should I use half inch MDF or three quarter??

Anyone have any experience with this?

it depends. MDF too thick, and the speaker will hit the inside of the plastic door panel. MDF that's too thin, and the window will hit the speaker magnet when it goes all of the way down. I think I used 3/4'', but it was a loooong time ago, so I'm not positive. it's kind of inconvenient, but the best way to do it is hold the new speaker in the place, with the window down, and measure what works best, getting the magnet as close to the window as you can, guaranteeing clearance on the body panel.

Going up to Rausch Creek Aug 21-22 with stock 15' DCSB 4x4 OR Pkge. I'm planning to add front skid plate, rock sliders from @Mobtown Offroad, and removing the sway bar. What am I missing, anything I should know as a rookie offroader? I'm not looking to damage my beautiful truck 1 month in.
