Battery mount issue

I did a few searches but I was unable to find any regarding my issue with the mounting bracket when installing a new battery. The new battery i bought is 1/2 inch taller than the original battery. Because of the height difference the battery mount does not hold the battery in place because the post that is attached to the mount is not long enough now. The bottom of the mounting post has a j hook that hooks into a mount on the backside of the battery.

Any ideas - I was thinking of making some kind of extension, but I thought I would check here first to see if anyone has run into this issue before.

Go buy all thread about the same diameter at the j hook and bend 2 new j hooks from it, then you should be good. It should be a cheap fix.

 

Why cant you return the taller battery for the stock size?
