I just bought a used 2013 TRD Sport, and the only previous owner says he never used this button. It definitely looks like an after-market addition.

Any ideas? If not, might you advise me on how to figure it out?

    Thanks!IMG_7684.jpg

Probably alarm, but you'll probably need to trace the wires to their destination to find out

Isn't the Tire Pressure Monitoring System reset the button to the right and not to the one pointed by the red arrow?

Push it and see what happens. Worse is the truck blows up.

If the owner you bought the vehicle from doesn't know. Find out what dealership and go ask them.

This is the thing that the dealer doesn't disable properly when you drive it off the lot after purchase so when you get home and turn your truck off only half way in the garage it will not re-start.

    Yes, really.

Thanks for all of your responses, guys!

So they put this button in even if the truck isn't equipped with the alarm? Silly Toyota... Can I just cut it off? Or repurpose it to shoot flames from the hood scoop?

Well that's where I hold my phone when I'm texting, so I see it a lot!;)

(For you serious folks... this is only a joke! I actually don't text while I drive. I'm too busy surfing Reddit.)

I called them immediately. The salesman was at my place in 30 minutes. The dealership is about 40 minutes away when driving a legal speed....

FWIW I am going to have them yank it at my first service.

That is part of the KARR alarm they try to sell you at the dealer. I refused and there is a bypass plugged in with no button.
If I ever find the wiring for it I plan on removing it.
