What about looking at the fat bob alternatives? Or alternative shocks - I'll know in the next few days, whether i'm in fact in the same back-order boat as you (no cash changed hands, he looked them up on the computer, and said he ordered them.). We'll see.

I haven't researched any other struts aside from the Bilsteins, I really wanted to go with them because several guys on TW have and liked them, I'm open to suggestions though. The rear shocks aren't on back order which is good because those are the ones that really should be replaced with the lift. I don't want to mix and match manufacturers for shocks and struts so I can get by until the struts come in, I just wanted to have the struts mainly before I put the lift in so I don't have to take it apart twice. The struts already have to come out so it seemed like a perfect time to put some fresh ones in.

okay so ill give you my .10 so i have the exact setup on my 2010. the truck rides great 4600's in the front and 5100's in the ass end with the AAL and spacer lift. the 4600 HD are a lot more stiff than the stock but than again i had 150,00 KM on the stock setup. I have noticed that the front actually sits higher than the ass end now so we are going to be adding in another leaf to get it to sit proper.

Well, that is certainly reassuring, getting that from someone who has already done the actual lift. More like .25¢

In my particular case then, it in theory should pretty much level out, or be a little lower than the rear. I was considering what i would have to adjust in 'the plan', to account for an ARB bumper for commuting with the crazies.. Probably be wash-board bumpy with the ARB bumper, and an atv in the back, if the Biltstein's are that much more 'HD' stiff.. but we will see.

Thanks for the .10 cents, thats what I was looking for

Update...I have the rear shocks in hand (5100's) and can't seem to find the front right strut anywhere. Shipping estimates are anywhere from September to October. If I have time today I'll be putting the lift in, I'll post pictures.

Update...dead in the water with the lift. I can't get the forward UCA bolt out, I can get it out if I ruin the bushings in the UCA but that isn't an option. Going to put it back together and head over to a friends house who has air tools and a Bigger F'in Hammer. Patience is a virtue I guess:annoyed:

Well the lift is in...I ended up getting a loaner strut spring compressor and giving it another shot. It went a lot better this time around. Should be going in for an alignment and to mount & balance the new rims and tires within the next few days I'll post before and after pictures when I get the new rims on. It's a noticeable difference even with the stockers on driving the truck now.

After two days of driving it with the lift in I'm happy to report that the ride quality in my opinion has improved. Before when I hit large bumps or pot holes it would bottom out and jolt the whole truck. Now the ride is smoother and it takes bumps and pot holes better. Not sure what people are talking about with ride quality issues after a spacer lift because so far I'm loving it. I actually like my truck again and come Thursday afternoon when I get the rims and tires on I'm really going to be liking it.

Well I got the rims and tires mounted today and I'm really happy with how it came out. I actually like my truck again! No problems with the alignment so that was a plus.

There's a little rubbing just before full lock so I'm going to take the black boxes out this weekend and that should take care of it. All that's left for this round is a few paint and powder coat items, tinting the windows and maybe a shorty antenna. Going to lay low for a while, I spent more money than I wanted too but I'm really happy with it so its all good.

That sounds like it would be friggin awesome but I don't know if I want to drive 30 hours just to go play. Definitely something to think about though.
