Just wanted to bump this thread a bit.

I absolutely love the front end of my truck and how it handles. Roundabouts can be taken at very aggressive speeds and because theres no shock wobble on exit or entry, you remain ultra stable throughout. Same applies on the dirt when cornering quickly.

Now, my trucks not exactly nimble weighing 3 tons, BUT, these have far exceeded my expectations as far as on road handling is concerned. Off road is a no brainer, having ridden in big sloppy coilover linked trucks before, I far prefer these. Looking into a link solution in the rear.

    Hint hint jerry

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

I'm glad your liking them Ben I love mine being linked so stable! I was going to have a 3 link kit for the 2nd gens but someone punked out  go ahead and take a road trip to San Francisco for the week, drop your truck off and we can make it happen.

As you all have noticed, the ORI's require higher pressure than usual to lift your trucks. This is due partially to the weight, and also the mechanical leverage created from mounting them up on the a-arms. I watched a video, I believe it was BradyT88's video of him jumping in the dunes, where the struts bounced quite a bit (correct me if I'm wrong).

quoted text from a tech support email.
The upper pressure is higher than what we recommend. He either has a very heavy vehicle, or his struts are mounted such that there is a lot of mechanical advantage (leverage) that requires such a high pressure. At 750 psi, there is not enough rebound damping adjustment to compensate for the high pressure that is pushing the shaft to full extension. 750 psi is enough pressure to support 2356 pounds force. He should be using two struts per wheel at that pressure.

This is what can be done to help the situation with only one strut/wheel:

    1. Stack the Bellville springs to double the spring force against the metering plate so it will not push away from the damper body so easily.

    2. Use 15 or 20w viscosity oil in the piston shaft.

    3. Install our most recently machined metering plate that has a closer fit to the damper body.

If he races or jumps with these changes he could bend the steel draw tube with the increased hydraulic pressure against the rebound damping parts. If we make these changes we cannot warranty the rebound damping parts.

That was my video. I was attributing this bounce more to lack of compression. My compression valve in my ORI's came with 5 holes in it. I plugged one of them right before the trip to the dunes. I am planning on plugging another one so there will be 3 open. ORI told me that they are now shipping them out with only 3 due to customer feedback. If that doesn't seem to be enough I will look into either plugging another hole or running a heavier oil in the upper.

I don't know a whole lot about how air struts work but I do know that my rebound has typically seemed too high. After watching my videos, it does seem as though it could use a slight increase but that could be from me bouncing so hard off my bumps from the lack of compression damping. The only jumps I noticed considerable bouncing were the ones that were pretty hard hits. It seemed to run the whoops pretty well.

If you have a total Failure you are on the bump stops. The only time to my knowledge is on a Ultra 4 buggy in a race but it was a total failure. The seals are 5000psi seals so it's going to take total failure to cause that.

I have been daily driving my rig for well over 2 years without a single issue with 70,000+ miles on them.

I have drove my rig around on the bumpstops before (not due to a failure, just checking clearancing). It would certainly make getting off the trail harder, but I have no issue driving home on my rubber bump stops. I could see air bumps being a bit harder ride home though.

Is this the correct orientation for this piece Jerry, with the tabs up? Was thinking since I have to remake it anyway I'd do longer tabs and point them down, make it a sort of spacer as well so I dont have to run as much pressure to get my height. Thoughts? Both sides snapped like this btw
