Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
What all should I prepare for before embarking on a long drive like this? Be the furthest distance I've taken this truck in one stint since I've had it. Tires are fair with a brand new spare underneath, oil only has 3k on it, but is Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 synthetic so it's good for awhile yet I believe. Transmission fluid is good and tomorrow I will check the rear diff fluid and make sure it's good. Anything else I should check before we take off? The truck will be carrying 4 people and a trailer weighing about 1500# on the return trip so I don't want any problems if I can avoid them.
Anyone with experience road tripping in these little things shed some insight for me please! Last cross country trip I embarked on was in a brand new at the time 2nd gen so I had no worries at all with that rig.

Tire pressures would be good to top off and make sure its running good! I drove mine for a little over 1000 miles in a day from GA to Neb with a trailer (2k) and full bed (300lbs?) without a problem at 215k

When was the last time the transmission was serviced??

Just take a nice slow trip coming home if you need to pull any passes take your time and don`t cook the transmission.

check your coolant? Take some spare gas just incase? I usually keep a first aid kit, flashlights, bug spray, sun block, spare batteries, jumper cables, bear mace and straps behind or unDer my seats at all times. The bear mace is for hiking and I also keep it up front just incase I'm in a bad neighborhood lol.

Just check your tire pressure and fluids, do a walk around to check for leaks and go have fun. I do long road trips on a very regular basis. And eyeball your belts!
