What kind of tents do those with a family usually use? I've been looking at the one @Crom uses but wanted to see what else yall use. Looking for a 5+ person tent.

I have a REI basecamp 6. i've had it for 7-8 years now, no problems it of it at all. Zippers are good and no leaks. I bought the ground cover that was for that tent. between the tent and the REI Alcove shelter we set up a pretty nice camp. Soory, lost the pictures of your setup. Still have tent tent but, now we use our CVT Mt. McKinley RTT.

25 years ago I used the Eureka Timberline Outfitter 6 man tent, our daughter called it "Green Acres".

Even though I don't camp a lot anymore I keep this one around for the grandkids to play in when they come to Alaska.
From in the bag to set up takes about 5 minutes and another 5 to attach the rainfly.
The optional vestibule (I never bought one) is a great addition.
Not cheap, $420 at Campmor and Amazon
You would not want to take it backpacking but a friend at the TL 2man that packed just fine.

We use the Colman Insta-tent. It goes up like an easy-up. A little bulky when folded but they go up super fast, which is important when you have kids running around. Plus you can stand inside if you're not over 6'1" and they aren't expensive.

Take a look at Kodiak canvas tents.

They go up quick (really quick) and are very durable, 4 season tents.

Is there a short list of slide in pop up campers that fit the Tacoma? I'm looking for a used camper - but generic searches lead to may ads that say "should" fit all trucks with 6' + beds. I believe the width between the rear wheels in the bed is the key?? I believe mine is about 41" (2012 Tacoma base 4x4). Are these as hard to find as I'm finding??? Any hints will be appreciated !!

Just looking for a decent shape decent looking camper for occasional weekend trips and possibly a few week long + trips. A list of what fits would help with searching ..... Thanks All (and Great Pics !!!)
