It's something you get into..... If you're a motor-head and are outdoorsy kinda person, you'd enjoy offroading.

It's all about DRIVER SKILL. The challenge of building a rig and driving your rig through different terrain.

My husband and I were into offroading for 10 years (many years ago). We started with our 1st gen. Bought and built a Jeep. Bought a trailer and a tow rig. The comroddery is also fun just like any other hobby.

I can't say we've done anything extreme....but.... you haven't played hard enough if you haven't pushed the butt pucker envelope. ;)
Paragon Adventure Park - first time with front/rear lockers. Scared the piss out of me!!!

Rausch Creek Offroad Park - A side trail in a gulley. I don't even know if they still use it. I think I was the first person to do an end-over-end here. LOL

    Holy shit. Yeah no.
If I had money coming out of my butt, it might be fun. I'd be so scared to total or damage my precious vehicle lol.

I may have to give it a shot one time when I get my Tacoma though.

Do most of you off roaders have a maual? Sounds like you'd really want to in rough stuff.

You don't need to rough it...... It's an evolution/progression. When you go offroading for the first time, you'll know whether you like it or not. Just make sure you go with an experienced group and make sure you do beginner trails - do it legally and always go with a 2nd vehicle (never go alone).

We used to take beginner groups out - first timers. They'd usually fall into 2 categories. Scared shitless or PUMPED.
Those who were pumped up - obviously - came back for more.

We always had manuals - but - you can learn and adapt to whatever you have. It's about driver skill and learning the vehicle whether its manual or auto.

I bought my 2007 tacoma new and vowed to keep it prestine. It's never gone offroading and probably never will. Surely...I take it on dirt trails and dirt paths, but nothing that resembles a 'beginners' trail at an offroad park.
Like any hobby....you get into it. Over time...you move on to something else.

Impressive? Not really..... What's more impressive (to me), is someone taking a $35,000 vehicle out on the trails before its first diaper change!! LOL

Any tacoma could do that even without a locker. All you need is 4WD and a good driver. Or perhaps ...a locker and an in-experienced driver. ;)
