Hello and Hafa Adai from Guam. Finally after 3 months of owning my brand new Tacoma and putting my manual trans. 93' 4 cyl. regular cab 4x4 Hilux to the side, I am finally starting a build page to help keep track of my progress on my truck. This isn't my first Toyota but it is my first 2nd gen Tacoma. I just recently purchased my 14' in August brand new after the long awaited 3 1/2 months until the new shipment landed on island. I had no intentions of getting my 14' and putting my 93' to the side but, my father decided it was time to get a new truck of my own. I was fine with my 93' do to the fact that it was my first vehicle, my father is the original owner, it was given as a graduation gift from my parents, and the list goes on :pout:. Overall I am happy to be a tacoma owner now and little did I know Toyota would be discontinuing the regular cabs in 2015, I love my truck! Anyways I will be uploading pictures and progress of my truck along the way. Soo many things I already have planned and in time it will get done. Hope this becomes a useful build page for other members or future Tacoma owners just like me.

Purchased brand new August 18, 2014 from Atkins Kroll Toyota Guam

I originally wanted a manual trans. but, with the constant stop and go traffic on island and this being my daily driver I went with the automatic...:amen:

Installed, I didn't want to lose the bottle jack so I made the box to spec without having to eliminate the jack. Also used battery tie down straps from the local Napa store to secure the sub enclosure and the jack/spare tire bag down to the factory hoop on the back of the cab.

Fuse holder didn't really wanted it mounted like this but, I guess thats why you have to be more specific when youre having something installed by a shop.

(Note: Passenger side chair is able to recline and move back just as much as driver side chair without the sub hitting when it flexes. Im 5'10" so i think thats enough room for the average person to have in the passenger seat without having to move it back any further...)

Its been a while since i've last posted! No major updates since i'm still saving up for everything I want to do at a one time shot. Anyways finally got the stubby aluminum antenna. I was going to get the TRD carbon fiber one but, the all black satin one looked better to me. Today I took off the mirror caps and grill to get them color matched gloss black! Finally haha also, took the bottom grill insert portion off to get painted satin black didn't like the gray. I broke the three center clips holding them to the bumper while taking it off :frusty: so, when i reinstall hopefully the insert stays attached without any play if not I will find a way to fix it... With the left over satin paint next will be the BHLM couldn't take the headlights apart so im going to have to wait. Probably going to get a duplicolor black chrome kit and black chrome the emblems and the part of the light housing that doesn't get painted.

Heres a little photoshop edit I did of how i'd like the truck to look once i'm done! Thanks to @DefconBrix for the wheels and tires haha but, @Brewster has me second thinking the method nv's and making me want to go with fuel formulas again. What would you pick?!

gonna look sick dude! i rocked the stubby antenna for almost 2 years and if you don't unscrew it every so often, it'll get stuck. the reception really sucks tho huh? i got no service in malesso..kinda glad i went back to the stock antenna.

Thanks brotha! I cant wait the one killing me right now is the lift I want, I might just rock a procomp 3" kit till i pay it off then go with the fox suspension. Hows about I loctite the antenna because of the thieves we have here on island lol. Hopefully I don't have to take it off anytime soon. Reception for me is good when I do use the radio but cant really comment on that because most of the time i'm playing pandora so i'm not sure if theres any dead spots around island with it. BTW I saw your video of the super44 on youtube hows the sound in the cab when you have the windows up, air-con on, and musics on? is it still loud or does it get covered up?

Back from paint! Everything turned out great, exactly what I was going for! :dancingbacon:
I was going to black chrome anything that was chrome on the truck but, decided not too. Next I will be doing the BHLM with the extra paint I have left over. Also, going to purchase black taillights, a fog light kit, and a 30" light bar. Once the light bar is in I will relocate the license plate to under the bumper.

Base coat Clear coat Gloss Black

Looks a lot better than the stock light gray color. Went with a satin single stage paint from the local Napa paint store.

Fog light kit and 30" LED light bar ordered. So, I decided to get the license plate relocation mod done while I wait for them to come in. Got an idea of what kind of bracket to use from NosiBaLasi . Had to trim a little to make it fit but, it ended up turning out good. Here are the pics. right after I mounted it...

    image (5).jpg image (4).jpg image (3).jpg

After I finished mounting the license plate I went and bought these retaining clips from napa and used them to plug up the previous screw holes on the bumper. They only came in a bag of 18pcs. so, if I ever need a replacement or anyone needs a pair I have. haha

    image (2).jpg

The color was a perfect match for the bumper.

    image.jpg

Another thing I noticed after everything was done was the discolored portion that the plate covered while it was mounted there. Thinking it was just dirt I tried washing it off but nothing happened. Next thing I noticed was that it looked like the metal plate was rubbing against it causing it to discolor. I watched videos on youtube on how to make your bumper/fenders black again with a heat gun but, wanted to see if there were any other options out there before I tried that. Its just a little portion nothing big so, if anyone knows a solution other then using a heat gun please let me know! :help:

Fog lights came in and I put them on but, didn't do the wiring yet. I'm still waiting on the light bar to come in so, until that comes in I will be wiring them up at the same time. I ordered the fog light kit on ebay for $45 shipped and its a nice good quality kit. Doesn't feel cheaply made and fog light lens is glass not plastic. The only thing that bugs me is the housing isn't fully chrome on the inside half is painted silver but, in the pics. on ebay its exactly like what I have so, I really cant complain.
Overall I am happy with the way it looks on the truck!
