HELP! Don't know how to remove tranny fluid filter!

    FOR AN A43D TRANSMISSION (4-speed auto)

    So I decided to change my transmission fluid and filter today. So far, everything's gone fairly smooth. But now I've hit a wall. I drained the fluid, removed the pan, cleaned it, cleaned the gasket surfaces, and now I'm trying to remove the filter but it won't jimmy out without removing anything else.

    Anybody who has experience with this, any info would be appreciated.

    Sun goes down in an hour! D:

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    well in the video it looks nothing like yours, but this is the way the filter is replaced

    off hand I would say it should be able to slide out from under that tube crossing over it but you better check the FSM to be sure

    ahh, they don't always say the engine types but it figures, most everything they have on youtube is for v6 engines

    Ok guys, my neighbor figured it out for me. Idk if this is the right way to do it but it worked lol

    He basically stuck a screwdriver between the filter & that tube, then pried the tube down far enough so that the filter could slide out toward us (with respect to the pictures). He seemed pretty confident about what he was doing, since he's got about 10 years of experience with cars, but so far nothing bad has happened.

    Shit, im soon to do this on my 2.7L. Odd, its all A340 transmissions in these. Surprised it would be different on the 2.4L.
