In that case the auto is a 4 speed and the MT is a 5 speed. That's the main reason why MPG's are different. It used to be that manuals were more efficient than even the best automatics. At some point a good auto became just as efficient as a manual, given equivalent gearing. And now with CVT's, they can blow manuals out of the water. Ignoring other factors like strength and durability.

We'll see how things shake out in 2016 with both transmission options having equal number of gears. I have heard that automakers can game their auto transmission programming to get the most of the EPA fuel economy tests. Giving them an edge over the EPA drivers that operate the manual. The members here will be quick to post their fuel economy numbers once the trucks are out in the wild.

 

I have one too, and way more expensive than anything saved on any kind of motor with any kind of fuel mileage savings.

 

They only make the manual in the trd sport short cab...

 

A further wrinkle on this theory suggests these mpg universes aren't always parallel and out of reach. Sometimes, they might slam into each other, causing repeated Big Bangs that reset the universes over and over ..

That old pull brake was a pain in the knee. Not to mention that pull brakes suck for fine adjustment.

Certain interiors will have panels painted to match the outside paint. Not all will be like this.

Just the Inferno Red has the red interior.

 

That we know of now. Can't image this is exclusively done with only inferno red.

 

When I ordered my Tacoma I looked at the order guide and Yes it's the only one that does that.

No MT TRD OR with a 6-Foot bed?
I'm sure the stupid fucking crawl control gizmo will be responsible for this if it is in fact true.

 

The white better not come with a white trim piece. I don't want a big white blob in my field of vision while driving

 

My sense is that the decision to get rid of MT is a fait accompli. Toyota Corp. decided not to bother with MT in the American market, and crawl control is just a slapdash response to, rather than cause of, that decision.

Apparently one will be able to get the 2016 TRD Off-Road with a MT in the Canadian market.
