I'm very surprised it took this long. So, I just had to do it.

Yeah, those diesels kinda suck...IIRC you guys only have a 15 year import rule, we are 25 here...I thought about doing the import thing...but the diesels of the era aren't the greatest...and buying a 25 year old truck doesn't exactly excite me, can only imagine how much work I would have to do it. This point of my life, I just want to jump in and go...and not have to fuss with it.

The new version is impressive in some ways, lateral moves in others. For offroaders that need a truck bed it still has that niche locked up, I don't think there should be any doubt about that.

I have $$$ in hand (settlement from totaled 2010 Tacoma) to buy a 2016. I was told by my dealer they may not receive them until late October or early November.
What is taking so long? Some manufacturers already have 2016 models on the lots.
    Come on man!

I though production didn't start until this month? Must not be correct if other dealers have them. Go to that dealer?

I heard from Toyota Canada in person that there won't be any 2016's hitting the lots until mid to late September in the USA and mid October in Canada. That's pretty normal to me. That's about when the 2015 F150 and Colorado, which were also new models, hit the lots last year. Good luck finding one though until maybe next year if you didn't put a deposit down yet. I know dealers here are now taking deposits on trucks they've ordered and it sounds like sales are fairly brisk.

Usually when you see early 2016 models it's because nothing changed from 2015 to 2016 or the new model came from a new line that was ready early so they roll them out more quickly. As others have said, Toyota seems to be converting to the 2016 Tacoma right now at the factory level so it will be a bit before trucks begin shipping out.

Some manufacturers have time machines. Toyota won't invest in that technology for several years yet.

I can't believe they're not even going to include at least W rated tires on the limited. On a 40K vehicle it should have Z rated.

Why would a stock Tacoma need tires rated for 270 kph? That's just silly and something that would add to costs down the road with no discernible benefits. I hope you are kidding.
