Scratch repair

hi. I bought a new 2015 Tacoma in jan this year. Less than 10k miles later I've noticed some scratches on my truck. 2 small scratches are on the metal body on the cab. The other two micro size scratches are on the drivers side fender on the truck bed. Can this be buffed out? Reason I ask is because I bought a scratch repair kit that works well on any painted surface. But in the instructions its stated that if a component that has a small surface scratch is plastic and a dyed plastic component then it will not work. The area being treated must be a painted surface.

Anyway the product is quixx scratch remover and was just curious if I'd harm the truck by working on the fenders on bed of truck drivers side.

 

Welcome to TW. I've not tried that product, but I have had good results with Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 for light scratches. It is safe to use on your plastic fenders:

I've heard so many good things about that product I bought it also. But wondered if anyone else had info on the quixx product as well. Meguiars makes good stuff

 

Also, the scratch x 2.0 is a temporary fix from what I've read. More of a reason I looked into another product

 

If you can feel it with your finger nail most likely it will have to be sanded out. Or if you can see primer then it is to deep. I have used the turtle wax scratch kit. It work very well but be very careful not to over sand.

I'll take a pic when I get out of dentist office. The scratch is super small and definitely can't be felt with a finger nail. Thanks for the responses

 

Well I tried to take a pic but it doesn't show at all on my iPhone 6 plus camera. You can see the line at the angle but straight on picture it may as well not even existed. I used the Meguiars scratch x2.0 and it hid the scratch fairly well now but as I read up on it like I said that's a temporary solution. Beforehand I left dentist and swung by the local body shop that I know and trust and they said they won't touch it such new vehicle and plastic fenders. They showed me and explained why but basically the plastic isn't painted or they don't think it is. Not traditionally with clear coat.

I'll post a pic of the damage to the cab where it's painted and has clear coat though. It's right behind cab between cab and truck bed. Difficult to even get hands in between the area to do a good sand and polish job.
