It is a black truck, his second truck that he rarely drives. He picked it up at night and didn't notice the light spots until the next day when he could see it in the sunlight. Then spent four days fighting trying to get out resolved. Outcome was GM let him return it and gave him his money back. He didn't damage it. There were large spots where you could see primer. He showed me the day before returning it.

He bought a 2015 ACLB TRD OR Saturday, drove it on today. I welcomed him to the cool kids club haha. He has a nice YJ that is his trail rig. ARB lockers front and rear, lift, warn winch, 33x12.50 Mickey Tompsons, Hella Lights, Sliders and Bumpers. Nice Jeep, but it is showing it's age so he plans to turn it in to a beast and start trailering it with the Taco. I might make him a set of sliders, he wants to lift it and put some 285/75-16's on it with a LED light bar in the front bumper.

Towing a jeep with a Tacoma on 285/75/16s seems like a pipe dream... best of luck to him. I don't think I would have bought the Tacoma if that was my goal though lol

He'll be fine. I've seen a lot of guys on here towing some crazy weight with no issues. We're in a relatively flat area and it'll only be once or twice a year that he is doing it. You may be right and he'll realize it. Then I will convince him a S/C is the way to go!

That's true. My other buddy has a first gen DCSB TRD that he super charged just to pull around his old muscle car. It does okay but I still think he should have went to a full size.

He could always regear to a shorter final drive, maybe 4.56:1. Expensive (~$2k front and rear) but worth it.

So the production model seems to have a spare tire in the old place. Wonder where they stuffed the DEF tank, hopefully not in a low-hanging position.

I love how the Chevy trail boss comes with the air dam. I know it's easy to take off, but common at least follow Toyota and take the damn this off at the factory from a truck that's supposed to be tuned towards the offroad crowd.

This reviewer is terrible. If sidesteps and a bar on the box with some lights makes a trail rig for him, I don't think he's ever been offroad. It looks like this model is a lot of money for very little capability over a stock Z71. Just bring out the ZR2 already GM. Stop giving us these mall queen packages and go to something the people want.

I know it's a mall crawler package... but damn, I actually really like the effect the "Black Edition" has on this truck.

Black Edition, Trail Boss Edition, etc etc. Chevrolet is loving the mall crawling editions with this truck.

I've notice they're doing same thing with the Silverado, different editions.

Seen a brand new one at the gym. More chrome then I can handle. Nothing against it, it just looks weird. Looks like a door wedge.
