8 hours of grinding sounds like a lot of fun haha. did you find a local place to get por-15 at? im thinking of ordering some through Amazon. damn, a crack in the frame doesn't sound too good. there's always some work to be done isn't there haha.

i remember you talking about that one trouble spot between the gas tank and frame. i've been peeling flakes of the toyota undercoating off with my fingers for a while now. its lifting off all the way from the rear up to the front half of the cab. i'd better not put this job off too much longer...

that amber cover on the rear dust light looks great!

Your 3-spokes are 7" wide correct? No issue running the 35's on a 7" wheel?

Nope! No issues. It's actually better IMO. I can air down to about 7-8 in the summer time without blowing beads. It's awesome

Cool I am trying to research the fuck out of this before I commit. The hardest part is for the most part the truck is still my DD, but I want to take it to the next level. I try to ride my bike as much as I can to save myself from driving the truck but it's not always possible. I have no problem cutting/tubbing as that is where I want to go anyway, but can't afford to regear for a bit. Thinking just cut, go up to 35's on stock wheels and regear when I can.

Is it an auto? I wouldn't do 35's unless it was an auto. Running a large trans fan and cooler helps with the 4:10's. A manual would be just silly lol. Good luck!!

35s with a manual and 4.10s isn't terrible. Was actually surprised when I first drove mine after putting them on Sunday. 5th gear is useless unless your on the highway running over 60 though. 1st through 3rd feel about the same as it did with 33s. If your auto then it will bring the suck. My buddy is running 35s on his truck and it is a slug.

I find it the exact opposite haha. I don't mind 4:10's with the auto. Still crawls. Hauls on the highways if you need it....and enough passing power when you turn off Overdrive.

To each their own I guess!

only thing with the auto that i don't like is that the auto won't let you reach the high rpms quite like a manual. And that seems to be where most of our power is. Also when doing long climbs on highway i find the auto searching for gears and not being able to maintain a constant 60

Yeah I am manual. I think for normal DD purposes the manual with 4.10's will get the job done but I know if I want to wheel anytime soon with the 35's on regearing will need to come sooner rather than later. I think 4.88's will give me the best balance for on and offroad.

I'm going to Potts Mtn. this weekend so I'll let you know how much it brings the suck off-road. 4.88s are what I plan to go with on my truck. Already have a set just waiting to get them installed.
