hi, i have a 2004 tacoma that i just love. Have 140,000 miles and hoping for 100,00 more.

i live up north so not much chance of that before rust takes over but doing the best i can. Lots of car washes and wax. Have noticed couple times of hesitation at low speed or coming off stop sign, bogs down then rpms jump and revs up. Anyone else have this? Have had trans serviced 35,000 miles ago. No other problems runs great

Im 2005 and got new one free at dealership.

Bought my truck in Ga, with 30,000 on it in 2007. At time of recall they checked and said frame was in great shape. They did undercoat and worries me because i had two rough winters with salt. Hoping for the best.

 

We got salt and that horrible liquid spray here too.. sucks..how is thant undercoat now? I haven't heaed much about it. Is it like paint or stay wet like oily?

 

it looks like tar and smells awful for a month or so , they sprayed wheel wells and pretty much everything underneath. Problem is if they trapped moisture or salt residue it may rust faster. Been since 2012 , only see surface rust so far. When i first moved to Ohio i had it oiled underneath twice. They use diesel oil, pretty much illegal now. I'm hoping it helped my frame.

 

Welcome dude!, You'll get that 100000 more ez! I just got my frame TSB for cold wet climates or my 04. To bad mine been in hot Dry vegas all its life.

So had a few hard starts and rough idles lately. Was thinking of having throttle body cleaned. I have the 2004, 3.4 v6. My brother coming into town this week , was gonna ask him to do it. Any suggestions? I dont think its hard to get to from what ive seen. If anyone has done before maybe some do's and dont's. ? My brother very mechanical, i have 142,000 miles on it.

Sweet..people always yell when i ask a question thats been ansered..but takes hrs to search with-in site. I pull out to google and search tacomaworld and whatever im lookin for.. seems to work better 4me.. anyways glad2help &good luck =)

 

Thanks ill try that next time. Talked to place that does my oil changes, he says he does not remove, just sprays it out. Seems like should be off to get all the junk out. Anyway ill get it done.
