It can be done! After my lift, this is going in next! But I'll stick to my Toyo's.

Wow pretty cool. I didn't know it was possible. I also want to use it as an excuse to get the bumper so my girlfriend doesn't complain about me getting another truck part I don't need. I need every part!

"I need every part.." Bwahahahah isn't that the truth! I wish I could do the swing out bumper, but like yourself, I would have wanted the high clearance bumper but couldn't fathom the idea of cutting the body of my taco. In addition I need my bed to take my Moto to the track.

Yea my taps are there, and the tread kinda rests in the tap. It's held pretty snug in there. Also, my exhaust dumps out right at the axle.

I need to do this next. Debating getting two 285-75/16s on the stock rims or saying F-it and just getting two more matching rims and 285-70/17s. It's gonna be a shitty day when I get a flat and have to limp to the tire shop on the stock spare.

This thread has got me looking at swing outs again. Why do you want me to spend so much money...

Those are good looking gates. Even weight distribution and keeps the spare accessible when you're off-road or off-camber. I'd get one if I didn't use my bed all the time. Just be careful with tire mounts that have fewer mounting locations. There's another member on here that had one from a vendor that was basically a plate with a standoff that mounted the spare to the bed rail in whatever location you wanted (one mounting point). Downside was that after some off-roading, the weight of the spare wanting to shift on the rail caused a stress fracture in the sheet metal along the cap of the bed underneath the plastic cap. He suggested that this wouldn't have happened if the tire was mounted at several locations, not just one point.

The ones that mount to just the side rails are no good. I think this has a few mounting point, the bed rails on both sides and the floor of the bed. Im still looking around. I love tire gates but not sure if I want to have no tail gate....decisions...
