Go with the 5vz if you're going to swap.

I had a 3rz w/60k on it out of a rollover in Maine sitting on an engine stand. Saw it run, had it pulled. Sold it to a girl out west whose Taco died up in Portland, ME while she was on a road trip. Still got the engine stand setup for it if you want it. I need it gone out of my Dads garage.

I might be interested in it . I'm still trying to figure out how much this will cost me and if I have the money to do it .

Right on. We'll get it done when I get back home. You can snag it earlier if you end up needing it, just need to coordinate with my dad so he can let you in the garage.

One thing I'm finding about the F150 world is, lots of bros with way more money than brains! I joined an F150 forum for tips on maintenance and stuff like that, it's all Flowmaster, lift blocks, etc, and it's all bought, not built. No one seems to do their own retrofits (although to be fair, it's a more difficult process on the Ford than it is on the Tacoma). Retrofits go for $1,400 for the basic retros, more if you want special options. It's ridiculous! I have no plans to change the headlights on this truck, way too rich for my blood and my wife threatened bodily harm if I use the stove for car parts and turn the kitchen into a part shop :anonymous:
No, not yet. I'm trying to get Guitarjammin to buy it for his Ford, it's a perfect fit for the grille :) If not, I'll throw it up for sale on the Ford forum, if I list it cheap, it'll go quick (or I'll just keep it on the truck so I can really xray deer on back roads).

The wife wants fog lights for her Murano....if I get a light bar before we get her hooked up with that, I am a dead man.

At that price , shoot over to the junk yard and see if they have any lights . Build a couple sets and sell them . Who pays $1400 for fucking headlights that's nuts .

Believe me, I've considered it several times! Buy a set of headlights for $100, drop a $400 kit in them and a few hours of work and more than double my money. The only problem is, you have to shave the bowl of the headlight. The D2 or H1 kits don't just drop in like they do with the Tacoma lights. That and, I can't use the kitchen for a workbench anymore, especially with the little one running around.

I agree though, that kind of money on lights is nuts but there are a lot of people on the Ford forum in the 'more money than brains' club.

Oh and John, I sold a couple of used headlamps to a guy for his Bimmer at $940 each and they both had broken tabs. He paid it because the non-broken one's were selling for $1300 each, USED! Dealer prices were around 2K each.

And how much to get power to the garage? The next house will have some more room to actually work in the garage. This house, the garage is way too small.
It's mostly the Raptor crowd. They drive the costs of the mods way up because they're dumb enough to pay for it. Here, you can find OEM takeoff wheels and tires for $5-600 easily, there you're looking $1,000 and up. The FX4 wheels and tires are selling for around $2k! I was lucky with the set I picked up.
