Bought a 2015 Sport about 6 mos ago, it came with "street" tires which accomodate 75% of my driving. So I bought another set of wheels to mount hunting/winter tires. The wheels do not have the pressure sensors. If I buy a second set of sensors will the truck automatically recognize them or is there a linking process, or do I live with the dashboard light 5 mos out of the year?

    Thanks,
    Carl

They will need to be programed to your vehicle. If you have a local tire shop, they can do it pretty quick.

I think the linking procedure is in the owners manual...

When I changed from steel wheels to trd off road wheels, I had to get new sensors to fit the aluminum wheels. Tire shop paired them with my vehicle. After doing that, they couldn't get my dash light to go out. As it was closing time, I told them id come back in the morning so they could sort it out.

Once home I put my old steelies in the garage. Next morning my light was still on. As I drove away from my house, my light went out. I went back to my driveway & the light came back on. Went to the tire shop & told them what was happening. They were surprised my truck was reading both sets of sensors when all were close to my truck. Don't be surprised if the same happens to you with a second set.

I wonder if you can get the TP light disabled using a high level scan tool. I know those things can delete certain check engine codes...anyone know if they can do the same thing with that damned light
