I have a lifted 2010 4Runner TE with KDSS. I did the lift myself after about 9 hours it all went back together. I ratched strapped the KDSS hydraulic cylinders to keep them from moving and I've seen people disconnect the sway bars then reconnect. You do this so as you change out the componets you don't inadvertanly throw the balance off on the KDSS system and end up with some serious lean. I have experienced no issues with the crawl control, terrain select or KDSS post lift. BTW, its an OME 3" lift. I'm also running an ARB bar with a warn M8k and 100' synthetic.

Can I ask what the ARB bar is and looks like? I want to run a winch, but don't want to swap the bumper out. Can you send me links to more info about it? Thanks.

ARB is an Australian company that makes air lockers, bull bars, suspension (Old Man Emu), fridges and a slew of other products. Technically, I didn't swap the bumper out since it's a valence that sits over the actual bumper but there wa s a little cutting involved.

Here is a picture of it on my 4R

Thanks for the info. That is a bit more than I want to do at this time though so it looks like I will have to go with one of those hidden mounts.

I knew about ARB, I was just hoping they had a bull bar or something that would hold a winch, but not as drastic as full bumper.

Nice ride. I got rid of my heavaly modified Tacoma for my 4r trail. I really miss my Tacoma but the 4runner is much nicer along with the bigger back seat and covered cargo area.
Another option to mount a winch is the Southern Style bumper, pelfry mount, and hidden winch mount system all make mounts. I have the Southern Style bumper in my garage and just waiting to install my lift and buy a winch to do it all at once.

Thanks. That Southern Style bumper looks awesome. A bit pricey though... with powder coating and lights its $1200.

Any of the inherent issues the Taco has with a 3" lift? Driveline vibrations etc? My wife will be getting a 2016 4Runner and I planning on lifting it...love automotive homework.

Nice Runner, looks good in red. Congratulations!

I haven't experienced any driveline vibration at all, no issues at all so far.

It's been a little bit now...any regrets yet? Or wish you still had the Tacoma? I'm tossing around the idea of a 4R Trail.

Do it, if you're like me you'll be happy with the T4R.

Last DD in white, current DD in Blue.
