Fuel economy of the 2016 tacoma

I was going to say the same....plenty of Toyotas in the Million Mile club, most are Camrys and 2WD Pickups.

A design life is determined by assumed operation within the designed envelope operational map. As a result, an actual life in Alaska may not be the same in Texas, without even accounting for maintenance practices. Assuming there was a 200k mile design life, there would be expected very few failures before then. The failures would then occur as a distribution curve and most would likely last many, many times longer than design life.

Of course this is the internet, so take it with a grain of salt, but I found this from an automotive journalist who is at the Tacoma demo going on in WA right now. 8/17 might be the spec date.

 

8/17 is terrible MPG's....

 

at least they were able to hit double digits on the highway.

Someone on another forum said hwy mpg should be 24. Not sure how they know.

 

Toyotas are really cheap vehicles made well. Toyota a really drops the ball so much that it is a wonder they are still in business. Trans issues , rust issues , Head gasket issues poor designs "the valve train on the V6 4.O for example, poor mpgs in the pickups! yet I like them .WE had an 84 4X4 , a 92 x cab V6 4X4 , a 2006 x cab, 4 cyl 4X4 I let my son have when he went to college and my dad gave my son his 1996 2.4 Toyota which I now drive.

There are plenty more pics of the other color Tacomas offered if you go back in this and other threads from today. Some of them look real nice. I did hear from a Toyota rep that the new Tacoma should have best-in-class MPG for a gasoline engine. Don't see why it wouldn't be the Colorado 3.6 liter.
