I can get them installed for $329 ( Trail Fx or Westin) plus taxes but seeing some on ebay for $141 though the brand is Automax. Just wondering if you guys put your own on or seen it done and is it easy, PITA, or what. Holes have to be drilled im sure. I mean with 2 people and lining it up it shouldn't be bad to mark the holes and do it but just wondering. I might just get it installed and put on at same time i get the cover done. By the way I found a good price on a used cover and they are going to install it

If you buy the ones for your truck there is no drilling required. they use fasteners that fit inside the frame hole cutouts and for the rear there is a piece that it bolts to.

    gotcha, thanks

yes I will order the 4 inch oval ones since I have not seen any on any 1st gen Tacoma and I think they might have just started making them for those trucks. I called a few companys that some local camper places deal with and they didn't carry them. So I will try those out so I can be different than most that have the round ones. I weighed the round ones vs the ovals and there isn't much difference overall in looks as far as I've pictured in my head so I will just go with the ovals

It is amazing that this day in age people still using hood bug deflectors. And "European motorcars" ? this size trucks we use out there just to collect garbage
    and deliver goods.

i bought it from European Motorcars in CT and it came with the bug deflector. I personally think the bug deflectors look ok and I would put it on certain vehicles. I started to get a 2015 Gmc Sierra Denali and I wouldn't have put on on it. I only would want certain things on a truck like that.

I still have a 92 s10 that I bought in 99. I wanted a tacoma as an upgrade to my s10. I still might get the Denali in a few yrs or so. So with the tacoma, it it's a nice upgrade, hit the road and something nice to drive when I wana go somewhere and don't wana drive the stang :)

it's not just a "bug" deflector. there have been many a stone/gravel piece that has hit it and saved my hood. I don't mind them at all and if it's an accenting color then still looks good :)
