I just set up an appointment with Toyota of Chattanooga to try and fix my jacked up wheels/tires. Put on brand new BFG rugged terrains 6 months ago and the shaking was so bad at highway speeds that I just quit driving it. Finally found you guys and learned of the Haweka/Roadforce, we'll see what happens. Let you guys know the outcome, fingers crossed.....

I have the same problem on my stock 2007 4 door long bed. It happens to me around 50-70mph. I also feel vibes as I break off the freeway, so i'm gonna have the breaks checked out, and then check the lower outer ball joints. I'll check back with the results.

Get the wheel bearings checked as well.

My 2006 Taco has 300,000 and just recently started having the shaking steering wheel at most any speed.
Wheel alignment and balance did not cure. All the steering and suspension components are tight. had a good talk with my mechanic shop. Said it might be a lazy u-joint, not worn or clinking just too tight to revolve freely. I had them replace the front and rear most u-joints.
Almost all the shaking disappeared. On a hunch, I had the transmission fluid changed and the rest of the shaking is gone.
Not sure why this worked, but maybe someone can enlighten me how it did work.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
I would start with tire rotation, balance, alignment, followed by driveline lubrication...

I looked up a shop near me using the Hunter GSP9700 wheel balancer and alignment and it made a huge difference. When I went to my Toyota dealer, I had to explain all about lug and hub centric and the Haweka adaptor. I gave up and went to a place recommended by Hunter.

Check this link to look one up near you:

You guys are great, my truck shook at any speed above 45 mph. Took it to the dealer with the Haweka adaptor and had the tires balanced. Now it is like a new truck with a smooth ride. This forum is great for information, it just takes a while to shift thru the bs. Thanks for the help.

Just got a 2015 DC 4x4 and had new tires installed. Have vibes, returned and rebalanced and still vibes. Took to local Toyota dealership today and they said 3 of 4 were out of balance so they rebalanced and guess what, still vibes. They had no idea of any adapters being used. Been a bit since anyone posted in here but it's driving me nuts. Tires are Cooper atp's.

Ask about the Haweka Adapter. If they don't have it or use it take it somewhere else.

I have the same front wheel vibrations. All the time in the steering wheel only and 70 000 km which got progressive.
As a mechanic I figure it's tire wear combined with my wheel locks.

    Edit: stock wheels

My 2012 pre-runner started vibrating between 40-50 mph. I took it in to a shop and they claimed it was my spark plugs, so I had replaced all my spark plugs and the shake has gone away while driving. Now I'm having an issue with the steering wheel shaking as I'm breaking. Once again I take my truck in to the shop and the mechanic indicated it was my shocks/struts. So I had the hubby change the shocks/struts and got an alignment done right after (of course). But that didn't help the problem, I took the vehicle in and now it's the breaks and drums that need to be replaced!? What!!!!! I need a legit mechanic, this is insane because most parts and labor I can do, but replacing almost everything on this vehicle is getting ridiculous... The tires and break pads had been replaced only last near Nov. Tires are still good, maintenance done every 2-4 weeks. Any advice? The shake is getting to be annoying...

Either cheap brake pads and / or improper bedding of the brakes will both cause this vibration. I just took care of the exact same issue on my son's Four Runner last week. He had just replaced the brakes last December. Cheap brake pads and improper bedding was his issue.

You are welcome. I hope you get this sorted to your satisfaction.

I agree it sounds like you need a better mechanic as the one you are using just wants to throw parts at it at your expense.

Not sure if this helps anyone but I had some steering wheel vibration after getting new tires put on. Final solution after lots of balancing, and second set of new tires was to tighten all lug nuts to proper torque specs using only a torque wrench and bringing the torque up a bit at a time.

hoping to have a solution to mine next week as well. The dealership actually made mine a whole lot worse. i'll post here if mine gets resolved. Just depressing reading all these posts about people having the same problem

(by the way, i'm driving one of the new 2017 TRD OR double cab 4x4 and it rides smoother than my wifes tahoe!)
