Just noticed the dealer has been putting in 0w-20 synthetic in my truck. Is this correct? It's a 2012 v6.

Noticed it cuz I am a quart low and was going to napa to get a quart. Dealer too far to drive for them to do 1 quart

Like Rock Lobster said it should be 5W-30 but 0W-20 is Ok too, and it will get you ready for winter...

Had the same thing happen to me. Was reviewing my service invoice and noticed it. Returned to dealer and they took my truck to the front of the line and replaced it with 5w30 per owners manual.

X2. Looks like they used the oil recommended for the 2.7 L 4 cylinder. The oil filler cap on my 2012 V6 states 5-30 and even I can distinguish 4 vs. 6 cylinder. I would call them and have them make it right by reimbursing my $. I was pissed when they did my comp change and put in 10-30. They are the dealer with the "trained technicians", pretty scary. I know the 10-30 was okay but it was the point, if you can't follow simple instructions how can I trust you. The good thing for me was It was the push I needed to learn and do my own simple maintenance. I have always been mechanically challenged but lots of great info and help here on TW. If possible consider trying your own oil change, the V6 filter is easily accessible, oem filters bought in quantity on the internet cheap.

Least they put oil in it.

1st 5k mi oil change on my brand new truck, decided to take it in and have them do some measurements for the driveline vibe tsb.... Literally watched the oil change boy drain my oil, put the plug back in, lower the truck, change the filter, close the hood and just about started it to back it off the lift..... all while i was standing there with the HEAD of the service mechanics... needless to say they both got an ass chewing.
