Hello, I joined here and I was hoping to gain some perspective from more experience members.

I have been looking at pickup trucks now for a while. I have narrowed down my search to a Tacoma or a Tundra. I like Toyotas. I like the style. I like the interiors. They seem to have a really good reputation.

Right now I'm really leaning towards a Tacoma. I like a lot of things about this truck: it looks good, it has some nice aftermarket upgrades, it does well offroad, agile and maneuverable, good as daily driver, fits a lot of gear for it's size. Great for camping. On the other hand, the Tundra seems like it's better value. It's more comfortable. It supposedly gets similar gas mileage (although I find that hard to believe). It has the ability to tow my boat. It is however a pain to maneuver in tight spaces and more difficult to park.

I'm torn on a decision. Towing would be useful but I could probably get away with not doing it. The Tundra is drivable but I prefer the ease of the Tacoma. Although the access cab that I'm looking at has a terrible blind spot. They both would be great for camping which is a top priority for me. They both can go offroad but the Tacoma is obviously the better choice. The both can fit a lot of gear. They are both great trucks....

Any thoughts? A part of me wants to go for the Tundra because I feel I am getting more for my money. The other part of me wants the vehicle that will be easier to drive as I will be using it everyday. Either one will probably work for me but I'm looking to make a decision this week if anyone wants to weigh in. Ideally, I wish that there was a model in between.

I agree with a lot of you point, but one to add to your decision making. Do you have small children who will soon become teens. The back seat of the Taco can be a bit cramped if you have backseat riders often. If the gas mileage/expense is a wash for you, then I would get the Tundra. I love my Taco, it does what I need it to do, it's my daily driver so gas mileage was one of my considerations. I don't tow much at all rather, I haul lumber and the like around. If you tow a boat on the regular and have back sear riders often...get the bigger truck. My wife wanted me to get the Tundra, but it was more than what I needed a truck for. If I had a boat...definitely would have went with big brother.

Good luck man...either way you won't go wrong with the Toyota!
