Yes! Gusset everything! A definite "while you are in there mod"
Really surprised you went All Pro. I've heard such mixed opinions on it. I will say that the Brownie expo build on 37s is a cool truck though. I know its done the MOAB trip a few times.
I'm a TC fanboy personally. Two of my friends shops here locally just became authorized dealers and soon will be certified installers.

700 not stiff enough for a fully armored truck?...with LT? Throwing a guess out, thinking the longer arms have more leverage over the coilover...not sure tho

Per Jberry I'll be losing uptravel with the stiffer coil. It's cool though. When I get them rebuilt eventually I'll swap 600 on or something. I'm ok with loosing alittle uptravel for now if I get to run 35s. I don't plan on jumping the truck.

Nick, as much $$ that's going into this badass rig, why not go sas? Unless that's not your style of wheeling. Then I understand

Sas costs more, to do it right anyway with ford 9,dana60, 14bolt, 3 linked coilovers, air bumps, new front driveline, crossmembers,...then again Lt can be expensive too depending how racecar you get with it. Cool seeing more built IfS rigs out on the trails. For a basic LT kit it's more user friendly out of the box too.

Isn't SAS like $15k to do it properly?

    ...too much shit to list.
    Ok folks...it's math lesson time!

I'm not the second gen expert...but from what I've seen around here. Your bolt in OE replacement shock is around 5" of stroke. And that accounts for ballpark 9" of travel if you cycled it with no coil. So suspension to shock travel ratio is 9:5. Basic math, 9/5 = 1.8 which means shock ratio is 1.8:1
    AP claims 12" of travel, with a 8" stroke shock. That's 12:8 or 1.5:1

The closer you get to a 1:1 ratio, the more effective the valving and spring rate gets. At 1:1, you actually have 700 lbs. The higher you go up in ratio, the less effective spring rate you have. It's not just "Oh I had 700# on my MT setup...so I should have 700# on my LT setup." It's not the same geometry.

    Tits.
Thank Jason, some good info there!
In my brain I thought well with a LT setup, I will have less uptravel than with a MT set up so a 700 coil should compress easier...
Everything can't be that easy though haha :goingcrazy:

As you should be!!! I got to drive a LT Tacoma last weekend that was built by a close friend. It's a TC +3 kit with double bypasses up front and triples in the rear that have been set up through many shakedown runs our desert. It has 500# coils up front and is the smoothest on road and off road Tacoma I've ever been in.

    Are you planning for 37s?
