    Greeting all,

    Paul in Connecticut here.
Tomorrow morning at 10am I will take possession of my 1st new Toyota (2015 Tacoma). This is departure from my history of new purchases that were all Nissan(97 Pickup,03 Xterra & my wifes 09 Versa).

The the factors that steered me away from Nissan is that when I took into account that a Toyota of the same year/condition as my Xterra held a greater resale value. Due to the fact the Nissan needs some cosmetic & mechanical repair, I would never get a return on the repairs but if it was a Toyota, it would be cost effective.

Here is my new Tacoma details:
    SUPER WHITE
6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION (not an easy find)
    TRD OFF-ROAD PACKAGE
    OFF ROAD TOWING PACKAGE
    RADIO: ENTUNE AUDIO PLUS
    T3 PACKAGE

    $30,316.16 before fees & 6.35% tax

I was going to go to VT/MD or PA to get one in SIlver Sky Metallic but decided to take the above due to multiple dealers telling me that there were no manual transmission access cab Off Road package trucks in a 500 mile search. I almost went to AZ where dealers seem to still have quite a selection. I could have had almost the same Tacoma with the TRD rims for a few hundred more & a 16 hr round trip but time & a previous sale worked against me.

    Now the decisions:
    Rustproofing? Who to choose?
I used Ziebart for my 97 & it worked well, just not a fan of drilling holes!

Welcome to Toyota/TW. I don't live in the snowy region, but Fluid Film seems to be the far and away favorite on this forum. Lots of threads on how to treat and what to treat with if you want to look around some.

Xterra is at 97k now, 2 years ago & 83k did full tune up/wires/distributor/all hoses & belts/radiator/water pump/thermostat/timing belt:All OEM Nissan except the radiator. Still runs great!

Now it is tripping codes (cat converter & knock sensor) & won't pass emissions. It will need a full exhaust in a year, now it needs tires, shocks, front sway bar struts & bushings. This doesn't include the bodywork it needs to keep it from looking like a beat up POS!

8:51 EST, Heading to the dealer to sign & drive!
