The smaller flange connection that connects the cats to the pipe running down to the muffler is rotted and leaking. Cat itself is still usable. Dealer wants to replace for an amount to absurd to even post! Can I cut out the flange and sleeve it or am I looking for a new cat? Is that a inspectable repair? Trucks an 05 Tacoma in for a frame recall. Thanks!

The flange is rusted enough to not secure the gasket without leaking. Does a shop just splice in a new flange?

Most shops can if they have the parts in stock or can modify your old stuff.
